University Restaurant (RU)
The University Restaurant (RU) is a supplementary unity of UFSC linked to PRAE. Its main function is to provide meals for UFSC students. The restaurant contributes to the well-being of its users by offering balanced and varied meals prepared in accordance with quality control standars, while taking into account the diversity of eating habits found throughout the state. It also contributes to the enhancement of teaching, research and outreach activities by providing internship opportunities for students from various academic programs.
The menu is planned and prepared on a weekly basis, taking into consideration costs, the proper storage of food products, and the receipt of supplies used in meal preparation. Suppliers are selected in advance through a public bidding process (reverse auction modality), with the aim of ensuring the quality of the products used.
